Blogaholism

My name is Yishai and I'm a blogaholic.

The definition of an addiction is when that activity impairs normal life. So, I'm afraid I'm a blogaholic. For the safety of myself, my family and friends, I'm going to have to stop blogging (again!). Oh, well. Sorry to my friends who are reading. I hoped you enjoyed my return from retirement as much as I did. For more blog reading in my absence, I would forward you to my blogroll to the left, and recommend LGF most of all.

The Media are the Enemy - "The New Yorker" Edition

Seymour Hersh at the New Yorker magazine has increased the danger to the national security of both the United States as well as Israel. He and The New Yorker are a clear and present danger. I am sickened and at a loss for words. I can not imagine selling out intelligence agents to possibly be captured, tortured and killed, solely for a freakin news story. Disgusting.
by SEYMOUR M. HERSH

The Administration’s planning for a military attack on Iran was made far more complicated earlier this fall by a highly classified draft assessment by the C.I.A. challenging the White House’s assumptions about how close Iran might be to building a nuclear bomb. The C.I.A. found no conclusive evidence, as yet, of a secret Iranian nuclear-weapons program running parallel to the civilian operations that Iran has declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency. (The C.I.A. declined to comment on this story.)

The C.I.A.’s analysis, which has been circulated to other agencies for comment, was based on technical intelligence collected by overhead satellites, and on other empirical evidence, such as measurements of the radioactivity of water samples and smoke plumes from factories and power plants. Additional data have been gathered, intelligence sources told me, by high-tech (and highly classified) radioactivity-detection devices that clandestine American and Israeli agents placed near suspected nuclear-weapons facilities inside Iran in the past year or so. No significant amounts of radioactivity were found.

Germany Investigating Plot to Blow Up El Al Plane

Germany is investigating a plot by a number of people of indeterminate ideology and unknown origin, to blow up an Israeli airplane at Frankfurt Airport: German police investigate foiled plot to bomb plane.

BERLIN (Reuters) - German authorities are investigating a number of people in connection with what they suspect was a foiled plot to smuggle a bomb onto a passenger plane, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office said on Monday.

German security sources said on condition of anonymity that the plane would have been at Frankfurt International Airport, one of the world’s busiest. German newspaper Die Welt cited security sources as saying the target was a plane of Israel’s El Al airline. An El Al spokeswoman in Israel said the company does not respond to reports about security matters.

Prosecutors in Karlsruhe said they were investigating six suspects whom they had identified and a number of unidentified suspects. None of the names have been made public.

Several of the suspects had approached someone during the summer who had access to the security department at a German airport and who had expressed willingness to smuggle a suitcase or bag onto a plane for payment, a statement said. The suspects repeatedly made contact with the person but were unable to agree on a price for planting a bomb, it said. Die Welt said the person was a male employee of Frankfurt airport.

“The suspects were temporarily taken into custody and informed of the suspicions against them before they were released on Saturday, with the exception of one wanted in connection with another crime,” the office said.

The men are suspected of being members of a terrorist organization, the office said. It did not explain why the suspects, who remain under investigation, had been released.

“I can’t comment on the particularities about the decision to release them,” said a spokesman for the interior ministry. Germany’s BND foreign intelligence agency also declined comment.

Imagine my surprise to discover that this investigation involves, of all things, an Islamic terror cell: Terror cell nabbed in El Al bomb plot.

Terror of the Day - School's out!

School's out. In a bad way.
3 Qassams hit Negev; local schools to stay closed
By Haaretz Staff and Agencies

Three Qassam rockets fired from Gaza struck the western Negev on Thursday morning, a day after a woman was killed and two other people were seriously wounded by rocket strikes on the town of Sderot.

In wake of the ongoing attacks, Sderot student council announced Thursday it would not allow the town's comprehensive high school to open.

Sha'ar Hanegev regional council also said it would not open its elementary school until the beginning of next week.

Flashback - It's 1938 all over again.

From the venerable Cox and Forkum:

From TimesOnline: Blair: We must work with 'Axis of Evil' states. (via Regime Change Iran)

The first cracks in the united front over Iraq between Tony Blair and President Bush appeared last night as the Prime Minister offered Iran and Syria the prospect of dialogue over the future of Iraq and the Middle East.

Mr Blair said there could be a new "partnership" with Iran if it stopped supporting terrorism in Iraq and gave up its nuclear ambitions. Syria and Iran could choose partnership or isolation, he said.

We're depicting Blair above as being reminiscent of another British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain. From Wikipedia:

Chamberlain is perhaps the most ill-regarded British Prime Minister of the 20th century, largely because of his policy of appeasement towards Nazi Germany regarding the abandonment of Czechoslovakia to Hitler at Munich in 1938.

On returning from Munich, Chamberlain declared: "I believe it is peace in our time."

From Haaretz: Netanyahu: It's 1938 and Iran is Germany; Ahmadinejad is preparing another Holocaust.

Drawing a direct analogy between Iran and Nazi Germany, Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu asserted Monday that the Iranian nuclear program posed a threat not only to Israel, but to the entire western world. There was "still time," however, to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, he said.

"It's 1938 and Iran is Germany. And Iran is racing to arm itself with atomic bombs," Netanyahu told delegates to the annual United Jewish Communities General Assembly, repeating the line several times, like a chorus, during his address. "Believe him and stop him," the opposition leader said of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "This is what we must do. Everything else pales before this."

From Ynet News: Ahmadinejad: Israel's destruction near.

According to the Iranian media Monday, Iranian President Mahoud Ahmadinejad declared that Israel was destined to ‘disappearance and destruction’ at a council meeting with Iranian ministers. “The western powers created the Zionist regime in order to expand their control of the area. This regime massacres Palestinians everyday, but since this regime is against nature, we will soon witness its disappearance and destruction,” Ahmadinejad said. (AFP)
There are additional quotes from Bibi that C&F left out:
"No one cared then and no one seems to care now"

"No one will defend the Jews if the Jews don't defend themselves," he said to loud applause. "Iran's nuclear ambitions have to be stopped."

Second Holocaust Watch

Via PJM: Second Holocaust Watch
Back in 2002 I initiated a major controversy among Jewish writers by daring to mention the possibility of a “second Holocaust”—-the destruction of the State of Israel, most likely through a nuclear exchange. I quoted Iranian mullah Hashemi Rasfanjani declaring that Iran would not be particularly upset to lose 10 or 15 million people in a nuclear exchange with Israel if it resulted in the extermiation of 5 million Jews there and left a billion or more Muslims alive. Bascially he was saying that there was no deterrence. Many didn’t want to face this, think the unthinkable and whined that one shouldn’t say such things aloud, one shouldn’t think so pessimistically, foolishly boasting of the Israeli nuclear deterrent Rasfanjani’s stance made irrelevant. (You can read about this controversy in the anthology of essays on anti-semitism I edited, Those Who Forget the Past).

Alas a Second Holocaust is now virtually Iranian state policy.(although their leader denies the firs tone). Today Drudge links to a report that Iran’s nuclear program is nearly complete. And to a speech by Bibi Netanyahu in Los Angeles in which he says “It’s 1938 and Iran is Germany”. He then adds the despairing “No one cared then. No one cares now.”

The problem is that even if the world did care, it might not make a difference.

Breaking: IAEA Finds Plutonium at Iranian Facility

Breaking: IAEA Finds Plutonium at Iranian Facility

Plutonium found in Iran waste facility.

VIENNA, Austria - International Atomic Energy experts have found unexplained plutonium and enriched uranium traces in a nuclear waste facility in Iran and have asked Tehran for an explanation, an IAEA report said Tuesday.

The report prepared for next week’s meeting of the 35-nation IAEA also faulted Tehran for not cooperating with the agency’s attempts to investigate suspicious aspects of Iran’s nuclear program that have lead to fears it might be interested in developing nuclear arms. As well, the four-page paper made available to The Associated Press confirmed that Iran continues uranium enrichment experiments in defiance of the U.N. Security Council.

Earlier Tuesday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that Iran would soon celebrate completion of its nuclear fuel program and claimed the international community was ready to accept it as a nuclear state.

Shin Bet chief warns of large-scale confrontation in Gaza. (Hat tip: LGF)

Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin said Tuesday morning that "Israel must prepare for a wide military confrontation in the Strip, if moderate sources in the Palestinian Authority do not get stronger"”.

Speaking at a Knesset'’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Diskin outlined the Palestinians'’ efforts to arm and noted that, "“If all fails and it become impossible to strengthen Fatah, Israel needs to prepare for a military option in Gaza. The situation in the Strip is not a flashing traffic light but a red, red, red, light. Israel has no good options in Gaza, there only bad options and we need to chose the least bad of all."”

Diskin described an enormous amount of weapon smuggling into the Gaza Strip through dozens of tunnels. "“Although the number of terror attacks this year following the disengagement is smaller, the important thing to look at is the amount of weapons and the significant strengthening of Hamas as a result of the disengagement,"” he said.

UK: 1,600 known terrorists in 200 known cells.

Dear Lord. (funny how I get all religious when there seems to be no hope?).
[emphasis in original] (Hat Tip: Hot Air)

EVERY Briton is now a target for terrorists whatever their faith or race, MI5’s boss declared yesterday.

Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller outlined the terrifying prospect as she told how her agents are tracking 1,600 fanatics from 200 al-Qaeda cells.

In a rare briefing, the spy chief warned of a sustained campaign of indiscriminate terrorism lasting 30 YEARS.

And she said: “It aims to wear down our will to resist. All of us, whatever our ethnicity and faith, are the targets of terrorists.”

In a nightmare vision, Dame Eliza also told of the “daunting” menace facing Britain, in which:

THIRTY active terrorist plots are under investigation by the security services.

MANY more have yet to be uncovered.

SIX major attacks have been foiled in the last six years.

FANATICS are poised to use biological, radioactive or even nuclear weapons.

RECRUITMENT to terror cells of young Muslims — some still schoolkids — is exploding, with many groomed to be suicide bombers, and

MI5 is struggling to cope with a staggering 80 per cent increase in casework since January, leaving its 2,800 spooks at full stretch and potentially unable to “stop the next attack”.

Dame Eliza said: “The threat is serious, growing and will, I believe, be with us for a generation.

“Today we see the use of home-made improvised explosive devices. Tomorrow’s threat may — and I suggest WILL — include the use of chemicals, bacteriological agents, radioactive materials and even nuclear technology.”

Dame Eliza was addressing a small academic circle in East London called the Mile End Group.

She spelled out how MI5 was having to make tough choices over which suspects to track.

She said: “My officers and the police are working to contend with some 200 groupings or networks, totalling over 1,600 identified individuals who are actively engaged in plotting or facilitating terrorist acts here and overseas.

“And there will be many we don’t know, too.

Chilling ... images are reminder of July 7 disaster
It's happened already ... chilling images are reminder of July 7 disaster

“More and more people are moving from passive sympathy towards active terrorism through being radicalised or indoctrinated by friends, families, in organised training events here and overseas, by images on TV, through internet chatrooms and websites.”

She told how al-Qaeda posts videos of bombings in Iraq on the net within half an hour — and uses them to brainwash British Muslim kids.

She said: “Chillingly, we see the results — young teenagers groomed to be suicide bombers.

“We are aware of numerous plots to kill people and damage our economy. What do I mean by numerous? Five? Ten? No, nearer 30 . . . that we know of.”

Nuke alert ... Dame Eliza
Nuke alert ... Dame Eliza

Dame Eliza told how up to 200 plots of lower priority are not given blanket surveillance. Often, they are linked to terror warlords in Pakistan who guide and train British “foot soldiers”.

Dame Eliza said: “Killing oneself and others is an attractive option for some citizens.

“It is the youth who are being actively targeted, groomed, radicalised and set on a path that frighteningly quickly could end in their involvement in mass murder of their fellow UK citizens — or their early death in a suicide attack or on a foreign battlefield.”

Dame Eliza told how many of her agents were flat-out collecting intelligence “at some cost to their private lives and, in some cases, their safety”.

Making a plea for more resources, she warned the service was in danger of being overwhelmed. By contrast, she said: “Al-Qaeda has no restraints.”

The Jerusalem Post's Israel Alert Service (no link yet) is reporting that an Israeli Jewish civilian has been kidnapped by Arab terrorists in the town of Beitar Illit just outside Jerusalem:
Judea and Samaria Police received a report on Thursday evening of a kidnapping in the Betar Illit neighborhood.

The neighborhood’s security control center told police that, according to an eight-year-ld girl, it appeared that a man was dragged into a car by two suspects near the neighborhood’s border with the Nahlin village.

Police and IDF troops were carrying out searches in the area.

Bear Fight

America: The Next Israel?

The Belmont Club asks whether the general state of national security will play out like Israel's has.
After the Elections

Now that the Democratic Party has taken the House and has an extremely good prospect of taking the Senate it's possible to speculate about its consequences. The Israeli experience probbly provides a good comparison. Faced with the difficulty of a security threat they retreated, some would say, into pacifist fantasy. But the enemy eventually brought parts of Israel under threat and the response, when it came, was still half-hearted. Olmert temporized and another war in Lebanon is expected presently. Is this the fate that awaits America?

Maybe. Not in particulars but in structure. There is now a much smaller chance that the terrorist problem can be resolved at a low level of conflict. There is a greater likelihood that it will be allowed by neglect or paralysis to metastize into a canker which will develop into a catastrophic confrontation in five or ten years time. A likelihood, but not a certainty.

The comparison with Israel fails in that the US is the world's security Central Banker. The sheriff of last resort. Other countries could wobble as long as the Central Banker stood firm. Now the Central Banker itself is wobbling. The UK, Europe, etc could count on America to be the security underwriter of last resort. But where do you go when the reinsurer fails?

If America is lucky then a bipartisan national security consensus can be rebuilt before any catastrophe overtakes. But America's lucky streak has just run out. Two things now have to happen. The Democrats have to start responding to the threats that they will face now that they are in legislative power and they have to resolve the tensions between their left and right wings. In that respect, the election of Lieberman is some kind of proof that not everyone in the Democratic party is a Pelosi-ite. But a whole lot are.

At any rate, it's a new political game. With North Korea, Iran, Iraq on the burner and Nancy Pelosi running the House there will be enormous challenges to simply hold against the threat. The time of easy security is past. Nothing is assured.

Hezbollah judge elected in Michigan

Oh no. This is but the beginning.

I have nothing against Muslims (in principle) being in positions of power (new Minnesota Congressman Ellison); I prefer to judge people on their principles and actions. In this case, a judge has been elected in Dearbon who openly supports a terrorist organization. That Hezbollah is a terror organization is undebatable. They are on the US State Department's list of terror groups. It is official US policy. And now an interpreter and enforcer of US law openly supports a subvertive and murderous organization.

God help us all.

South Korea Unveils Gun-Toting Sentry Robot
By AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE, SEOUL

South Korea on Sept. 28 unveiled a high-tech, machine gun-toting sentry robot that could support its troops in detecting and killing intruders along the heavily fortified border with North Korea.
The weapons-grade robot can detect, raise the alarm and provide suppressive fire, said Lee Jae-Hoon, deputy minister of commerce, industry and energy.
"The Intelligent Surveillance and Guard Robot has surveillance, tracking, firing and voice recognition systems built into a single unit,” he added.
Lee said hundreds of the robots could be deployed along the 155-mile-long (248 kilometer) demilitarized zone bisecting the two Koreas as well as along the country’s coastline and at military airfields.
With modifications, they could also be used to guard civilian installations such as airports, power stations and oil pipelines.
However, the government has made no decision yet on whether to deploy the robots along the world’s last Cold War frontier.
Equipped with visual and infra-red detection capabilities, the sentry robot can spot moving objects up to four kilometers (2.5 miles) away during the day and half that distance at night.
Via “pattern recognition,” it can distinguish between humans, cars or trees at two kilometers in daytime and one kilometer at night.
Suppressive fire can be provided by a machine gun on top.
The robot was developed by a group of four institutions including Samsung Techwin Co. and Korea University over three years at a cost of some $10 million in government and private funds.
Each costs 190 million won ($200,000) and the developers expect to sell around $200 million worth of them when they go on sale late next year.
"The robot will also help cope with the expected decrease in conscripts in the coming years,” Lee told journalists.
South Korea has a largely conscript military of 650,000 against Pyongyang’s 1.2 million-strong forces, but a falling birth rate means Seoul will struggle in the future to maintain troop numbers.

Not that there's anything wrong with that - 'Gunmen may have dressed as women in mosque raid'

Those progressive palestinians. They really are for equal opportunity. First women suicide bombers, and now cross-dressing gun-"men". No wonder these terrorists are pro-democrat (not that ther's anything wrong with that. I know many people who are democrat.)
'Gunmen may have dressed as women in mosque raid'

The IDF said on Friday that they suspected that Palestinian gunmen had dressed up as women in order to foil the army's attempts to gain access to the mosque in Gaza where Palestinian operatives were holed up inside.

Hamas radio station in Gaza broadcast a call to northern Gaza women to go to the mosque to serve as human shields for the operatives inside.

A 19-hour standoff between IDF troops and the operatives ended Friday morning after all the operatives fled.

IDF soldiers surrounded the mosque in the northeast Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanun and exchanged fire with the dozens of Palestinians who were inside.

P.S. Using Mosques as firing positions and and civilians as human shields are war crimes.

New York Times November Surprise - It Helps the Republicans!

Heh, this is awesome. The NYT tries to slam the Bush administration, but if they stopped to think about it, they have just taken the wind out of the anti-war argument. heh. wind.

From the NRO:

Well, Drudge is giving us the scoop. And if it's meant to be a slam-Bush story, I think the Times team may have overthunk this:

U.S. POSTING OF IRAQ NUKE DOCS ON WEB COULD HAVE HELPED IRAN...

NYT REPORTING FRIDAY, SOURCES SAY: Federal government set up Web site —
Operation Iraqi Freedom Document Portal — to make public a vast archive of Iraqi documents captured during the war; detailed accounts of Iraq's secret nuclear research; a 'basic guide to building an atom bomb'... Officials of the International Atomic Energy Agency fear the information could help Iran develop nuclear arms... contain charts, diagrams, equations and lengthy narratives about bomb building that the nuclear experts say go beyond what is available elsewhere on the Internet and in other public forums...

Website now shut... Developing...

I'm sorry, did the New York Times just put on the front page that IRAQ HAD A NUCLEAR WEAPONS PROGRAM AND WAS PLOTTING TO BUILD AN ATOMIC BOMB?

What? Wait a minute. The entire mantra of the war critics has been "no WMDs, no WMDs, no threat, no threat", for the past three years solid. Now we're being told that the Bush administration erred by making public information that could help any nation build an atomic bomb.

Let's go back and clarify: IRAQ HAD NUCLEAR WEAPONS PLANS SO ADVANCED AND DETAILED THAT ANY COUNTRY COULD HAVE USED THEM.

I think the Times editors are counting on this being spun as a "Boy, did Bush screw up" meme; the problem is, to do it, they have to knock down the "there was no threat in Iraq" meme, once and for all. Because obviously, Saddam could have sold this information to anybody, any other state, or any well-funded terrorist group that had publicly pledged to kill millions of Americans and had expressed interest in nuclear arms. You know, like, oh... al-Qaeda.

The New York Times just tore the heart out of the antiwar argument, and they are apparently completely oblivous to it.

LGF has more.

Unarmed Security Guard - a Toothless Watchdog

Via the venerable Instapundit:

THE INSTAWIFE looks at the murder of an unarmed security guard here in Knoxville. He happened to cross the path of a criminal and was shot. No gun, no bulletproof vest.

As Dave Hardy has remarked:

Unarmed security guard sounds a little like a contradiction ... at best a deterrence to the more stupid or minor criminals (don't steal that bike -- there's a guy in uniform), at worst, a man put in an impossible situation, charged with protecting others, but having nothing but a radio to call for help, and maybe his fists.

Yes. People hire them, I suspect, because they don't want to pay the premium it would cost to hire someone who can be trusted to carry a gun while dealing with malefactors and non-malefactors. But as with an awful lot of "security" efforts, they're really paying for the appearance of security without its substance. Only someone else, the guard or a victim, sometimes winds up paying the price for the difference between appearance and substance.

Vivent la Révolution! (Inshallah) - Part Deux

The attacks are viscous. There is nothing short of an intefada being waged on the streets of France by "youths". We don't know who these youths are, but they sure are young.

Via LGF:
France: 14 Attacks On Police Every Day

Mainstream media, both here and in France, are doing their best to look away from what’s happening, but the French Intifada is getting increasingly violent: Youths challenge the French state.

Symbols of the French state, including policemen, firemen and postmen, are under intensified attack from disaffected youths as the country faces the worst race relations crisis in its history.

Hardly a night passes without gangs — many of them from immigrant families — attacking police cars, buses and emergency rescue teams.

Yesterday, the weekly magazine Le Nouvel Observateur published a confidential report drawn up by a public service trade union, the CGT, containing scores of eye-witness accounts of brutal attacks on public servants who work in the worst suburbs, or “banlieues”, from gas board workers to staff from the electricity company.

Its publication follows the revelation that attacks on police have soared this year, with some 14 a day, and a growing number of incidents in which officers have been lured into ambushes.

This has prompted a warning that the day France witnesses the lynching of a policeman is not far off.

The CGT report painted a graphic picture of violence: blocks of cement dropped on paramedic crews; washing machines pushed off balconies on to fire engines; electricity company agents too scared to cut off customers who have not paid bills, after being attacked with knives, guns and fists.

Despite the 20,000 troops deployed in southern Lebanon, the United Nations admits that weapons smuggling from Syria continues unhindered. A German report finds UNIFIL does not patrol after dark.

Hizbullah terrorists are free to roam at night without fear of being identified by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), according to a report by the German paper Der Spiegel.

UNIFIL commanders were interviewed by the paper, saying their function is to "observe changes in the behavior of the local population," with Spanish UNIFIL official Richard Ortax admitting that no patrols are carried out at night “because of the danger involved.”

One junior officer told Der Spiegel he was glad that his battalion only left their camp once. "It's absurd," he said. "We landed here and set up our tent city, but since then we've only left the camp to drive around and to make sure that we're seen."

They are cowards who hide behind civilians, and the only way to to take these terrorists out is to take them out. collateral damage is on THEIR heads. We need to take care of our own in the most sensitive manner possible, but we still must take care of ourselves forst!@! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh!!!!!!!!!

The Election, Democrats, and the War on Terror - by Orson Scott Card

I know I rarely discuss politics, but here is a great column from one of my favorite authors - Orson Scott Card - on the election, the Democratic party, and the War on Terror.
The Only Issue This Election Day

There is only one issue in this election that will matter five or ten years from now, and that's the War on Terror.

And the success of the War on Terror now teeters on the fulcrum of this election.

If control of the House passes into Democratic hands, there are enough withdraw-on-a-timetable Democrats in positions of prominence that it will not only seem to be a victory for our enemies, it will be one.

Unfortunately, the opposite is not the case -- if the Republican Party remains in control of both houses of Congress there is no guarantee that the outcome of the present war will be favorable for us or anyone else.

But at least there will be a chance.

I say this as a Democrat, for whom the Republican domination of government threatens many values that I hold to be important to America's role as a light among nations.

But there are no values that matter to me that will not be gravely endangered if we lose this war. And since the Democratic Party seems hellbent on losing it -- and in the most damaging possible way -- I have no choice but to advocate that my party be kept from getting its hands on the reins of national power, until it proves itself once again to be capable of recognizing our core national interests instead of its own temporary partisan advantages.

To all intents and purposes, when the Democratic Party jettisoned Joseph Lieberman over the issue of his support of this war, they kicked me out as well. The party of Harry Truman and Daniel Patrick Moynihan -- the party I joined back in the 1970s -- is dead. Of suicide.
You must read it all.

"I'm sorry you're stupid."

What a baby.

Via LGF: Flipper Starts Back-Pedaling

Flipper’s edging toward that inevitable lame pseudo-apology (this isn’t it yet): Kerry apologizes for ‘botched’ Iraq joke.

A day after rejecting calls to apologize for his remarks, Kerry, appearing on the “Imus in the Morning” radio show on MSNBC, declared: “I said it was a botched joke. Of course, I’m sorry about a botched joke.”

The definition of War - IDF soldier killed

Let's not forget the simple definition of War. Via Wikipedia:
War is a conflict involving use of weapons and physical force by states or other large-scale groups, coinciding with a lack of dialogue between the parties.
We are at war with the palestinian people. They have voluntarily elected a terrorist entity to lead their government. They systematically, deliberately, and yet also randomly target civilian homes, schools and cars. They want to kill every Jew in Israel. Israel is at war, not just with fringe terrorist groups, but with the duly elected goverment of the palestinian people, and therefore with the entiere people themselves. When our soldiers are killed, when they launch rockets into the hearts of Israeli towns, and when we go in to their cities to expunge terrorists and their weapons, then that means we are at war.
IDF soldier killed in Beit Hanoun

Cleared for publication: A soldier was killed Tuesday night during IDF operations in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza.

He was wounded by gunshots fired Palestinian gunmen and was evacuated for medical treatment, but died shortly afterwards. Later, IDF forces once again identified the group of gunmen and opened fire, hitting at least two. (Hanan Greenberg)"
