Prayers for the Gush

Thousands attend Western Wall prayer vigil. (hat tip: LGF)

Seeking last-minute divine intervention, about 100,000 Israelis flocked to Jerusalem’s Western Wall on Wednesday evening for a massive prayer vigil against next week’s planned Gaza pullout.

The predominantly religious crowd - young and old, men, women, and children - who attended the peaceful three-hour mass prayer, which took place just seven days before the scheduled start of the planned evacuation of the 21 Jewish settlements in Gaza and four in northern Samaria, spilled out past the Western Wall plaza into the cobblestone streets and alleyways leading to the nearby Jewish Quarter in what was one of the largest gatherings held at the Western Wall in years.

We here in Detroit also held a prayer service, attended by 3-400 people. Our hearts and prayers are with you, Israel.

Update: Arutz Sheva estimates the number of Jews there at 250,000.
