Comet Fireworks

This Monday, July 4th, NASA is smashing a washing machine sized probe into a comet to blast out some of its subsurface material and understasnd better the comet's makeup and how it was formed. By the way, the comet is 9 miles long, so the small probe will have no effect on the comet. It has been likened to a mosquito hitting a 747.
