Mad Man Ranting!
I don't understand why the U.S. lets madmen the likes of Hugo Chavez and Ahmanejad into the United States, then gives them a pulpit to spew hatred, violence and the elimination of Israel (yesterday). Today, Chavez calls Bush the devil. MM has more:
...He held up Noam Chomsky's book and called President Bush the devil:
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took his verbal battle with the United States to the floor of the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, calling President Bush "the devil.""The devil came here yesterday," Chavez said. "He came here talking as if he were the owner of the world."
More transcript from Musing Minds (via Pajamas):
I think that the first people who should read this book are our brothers and sisters in the United States because their threat is in their own house. The devil is right at home. The devil, the devil himself is right in the house. And the devil came here yesterday. Yesterday the devil came here. Right here. (crosses himself) Right here. And it smells of sulfur still today. This table that I am now standing in front of, yesterday ladies and gentlemen, from this rostrum, the President of the United States, the gentleman to whom I refer as ‘the devil’ came here talking as if he owned the world. Truly as the owner of the world. I think we can call a psychiatrist to analyze yesterday’s statement made by the President of the United States.11:28am Eastern - Inveighing against America's "immoral veto." Spewing about Lebanon...American hegemonistic pretensions.
11:41 Wrapping it up. Puts in yet another plug for Chomsky. "Recommending it highly...It smells of sulfur here. May God bless you all."
Scariest part: The applause from the UN assembly. Prolonged clapping.
Runner-up: The immediate laughter upon Chavez calling President Bush the devil.
